wow!

now what was the problem with a V8 using a 7.5? were the axles crappy or was it the center pumpkin that couldnt take the tourqe. needless to say, I am gonna swap it out when I get a chance, but it will most likely be a while from now, as I would like to do a 4 wheel disc and 5 lug setup all in one go, to save me some time and money, but if I track down a nice 4 lug 8.8, I'lll just swap it out and hold the brakes and 4 extra lugs for later

You could make the 5 lug work on the 7.5 the 7.5 and the 8.8 use the same axle I have read, they are the same length, splines, etc. It is just the center section that isn't as strong as the 8.8.

thanks raven, thats what I wanted to know, Ive heard countless times, ditch the 7.5, ditch the 7.5, but no one ever told me the reason, other than I would assume that finding a stronger 7.5 center would be tougher
