Default 95 mustang cobra Q

there is a 95 cobra for sale where i live. it has 78,000 miles and they want 8500. i currently have a 98gt pi swaped and other mods and was wondering should i trade my gt for it. also what do they run stock in the 1/4 mile and how much money does it take to make them seriously fast.

How clean is the car? Stock they run mid to low 14s depending on driver. What do you consider "seriously fast?"

if ur car has PI heads ur better off keepin it.

i prefer the modulars over the 5.0 but if u want an OHV V8, 5.0 is the way to go.

From what I gathered in the 4.6 forum, it's very difficult to make a SOHC 4.6 make 300whp, where as a 5.0 will make that with a h/c/i swap. if you are going to boost your '98, keep it. If not, get the 5.0.

If tehy're asking for $8,500, then it;'s either an overpriced 1995 Cobra or an underpriced 1995 Cobra R. I'm guessing it's the former

But if you can do a straight up trade, I'd rather have the Cobra than the 98... even with the PI swap. The 5.0 is generally cheaper to mod so you could make out, depending on what you want to do with it. But would he be willing to dump a 5.0 for a 4.6 SN95?

The only difference between the cobra's and GT's of that year were around 30-40 horsepower and some different bumpers/emblems. If it was a cobra R I would definitely get it because those had the bigger motors in them.

If I were you I would stick with your GT.

Actually it's a 65 HP difference and as mentiond before, it's much easier and cheaper to mod. Given the fact that virtually everything else is teh same as what he has now, I'd rather have the Cobra. First, it's a Cobra. Second, it has more power overall. Third, the market is flooded with aftermarket parts. The mileage is probably close to the same as well.

It's pretty safe to say it's not a Cobra R considering the fact that only 250 were made.

It's a 35 horsepower difference.

cobra specs http://www.muscularmustangs.com/2005/svtcobraspec95.php

GT specs http://www.edmunds.com/used/1995/for...tid=ik16231731

There really isn't much of a difference between the older cobras and GT's. Just the price tag.

a '98 GT with a PI swap has similar HP as a '95 Cobra, if not more. As for price, Cobras are worth a good deal more than GTs, especially clean, low mileage ones, not to mention will continue to hold its value better. However, the Cobra comes with a lot of bonus parts over the GT that are nice to have...
