Default clutch adjustment???

ok i just bought this 1983/1985 5.0, my question is, is the clutch adjustable on the stock version, right now the clutch only engages at the veeeery top, like if i push it down to the floor, and release it slowly, on the last maybe 1-2 inches at the top will actually engage. this is my first stang, did they come like this?? is my clutch gone or worn out? it feels like its fine no slipping or anything but its just really hard to drive when im in traffic. Also i know they sell adjustment kits, what all would i need to buy in order to make these adjustments.

sorry for all the questions but this thing is really getting on my nerves.... on the plus side the shifts when racing are much faster then any other manual i have driven, which leads me to believe the guy that owned before me did this.

Default RE: clutch adjustment???

try pulling up on the clutch pedal a couple times...listen for a clicking sound...if that don't work...i think dimebag knows another trick to manually set it under the dash....

The clutch grabbing at the top is good, not bad, unless you dont like it like that but, id run its like that. Disengages the tranny quicker in my opinion, eaier to shift, quicker, etc....
