What is the maximumrear tire sizeI can install on my 1987 GT (15" 4-lug wheels) without modificationsand what is the appropriate backspacing for the rear wheels? I have lowered the car about an 1-1/2". Now I am looking at getting new tires and wheels but I don't want them torub or bottom outon bumps/turns.

The widest tire you can run is a 275 and the widest rim is a 9". a 5.5 back space is good too.

a 275-50-15 will fit, a 275-60-15 wil need the fenderwell lip to be rolled inwards or itll cut the tire up
I have seen a 10 inch rim with 6.5 backspace fit but its a tight fit

I ran both tire sizes on my 15x8 draglites with 5.5 backspacing

Is that 275-50-15 on a stock 15 inch rim. I have turbines...what width are they?

YOU CAN RUN A 255/60R 15 ON YOUR TURBINES NO PROBLEMS....

i dont think turbines are wide enough for a 275 tire
