Default Could this be the problem?

My car still makes rattling-like noises after putting a new transmission. Could it be the sound of my lifters? My lifters are aftermarket and are a lot noiser than stock.

You gotta be a little more specific than that. Did you replace your transmission because you were hearing a rattling noise?

Are you running solid lifters? If not there should be little to no noise from a properly adjusted lifters unless your oil pressure is to low to keep them pumped up! Hows your pressure? What heads? Rail or pedestal rockers?

yes, but when replaced it still makes the same noise....I'm not sure of the lifters because I bought the car pretty much as is except for what i've had to fix. The oil pressure is fine. My gauge stays around 50 give or take.

Is you gauge correct? A rattling noise could only be about 100000 things. Kinda hard to say without hearing it....

im 100% positive the gauge is accurate. the vibration sounds like it could possible be the lifters, but I'm not sure they're loud enough to be heard driving down the road.

Well if you think it's a lifter, go with it. At least you have oil pres. and now you know it's engine related (assuming all this is done at idle). Just check the ajustment on the lifters. Try to pull a valve cover and see. Lot easier to do that than hurt the engine
