ok ill let em do it

where can i find a351W 4.000 Stroke crankshaft that has INTERNAL BALANCE , THEY TOLD ME EXTERNAL BALANCE SUCKS AT HIGH RPMS
You can get any crank. You also need to have your pistons and rods, then have the whole assembly balanced. They don't really come that way unless you buy a kit with rods, pistons and crank already balanced.

Scat has cranks that will go both internal or external balance. I can get kits already balanced and with flexplate and balancer included. It's only money.

the block is coming back to me next friday, the stroker kit this week or next.

I expect the shortblock to be ready by the middle of this month, completed and assembled. NOT NEXT YEAR.[8D]

Block Hot Tanked, Bead Blasted,Diamond Blade Bore .030, Ball Cross Hone, Deck Surface, Sonic Test and Blue Light, Check Mains For Straightness, New Cam Bearings, New Bronze Freeze Out Plugs, New Dowel Pins, All threads Clean Chased, Cylinders Notched for Stoker Clearance, Oil Return Passages Enlarged, Block Painted and Machine Oil Applied.

$225 , the guy didnt have any work when I got there and was just sitting outside washing his dragster for the track Saturday. Apparently He's the best in Ohio and has the fastest Dragster in the 1/4.

He's a Chevy Guy, so I hope he's cool, I paid him straight cash.[&:], in return he told me the block I gave him will look 100% brand new.

BAD NEWS, I just got my shortblock back, THEY COULD NOT Fresh IT WITH .030 over.

Cyl 1, had rings so bad for years, he tried to clean .020 over it failed, then .030, still no go, .040, nope, then .060 it worked.
Then I was told the sonic test and blue light showed fine and I should be ok with a 180 degree thermostat and normal radiator.

Im not about to stuff a stroker into this dam block that might, destroy the kit, and itself. They discounted the work to $190, and
agreed to give me a complete rebuilt kit with .060 over pistons rings bearingscomplete timing set, ALL gaskets, performance cam, lifters, oil and filter, for another $190.

Thats $290 off the price and a 25% discount on parts for life at any Carquest, they created an account for me. The other machisnist, elderly, said
he has a .060 351 for 4 years now, no issues, he said the block will split in half before I ever have a issue with the bore.

bored 0.30 over is a 357, i am not sure about .060 over. Being bored .060 is on the verge of being too much but may last for a while. You said if block fails you will buy a dart but keep in mind if you are buying good pistons for .060 over you will have to purchase new ones with the dart block. I would hope that it wasn't him who screwed up the bore when doing a .030 over and had to go more to correct his mistake, but i guess you will never know. I would just build the block as it sits and not worry with stroking if your sure you'll be buying another block in the future. 450 hp at flywheel wont be difficult. I have stage 2 ported trickflows,Diamond Racing Pistons,a little over 11:1 compression. I forget if you have a roller or not. Mine is not and i have a custom grind with 588/622 lift and duration @ .050 is 246/249. TF 1.7 roller rockers and carb set-up. Havnt had it dynoed but machine shop estimated 400-430 at wheels. I said not difficult i did not say cheap.

ill let you know on that as im looking for 400hp -450 until I decide on upgrading to a sn-body or more power . When I took the pistons out, i noticed the number 1 cylinder had a bunch of tainted black stain on it., and 2 rings broken still on the piston. The rest bored over .030 just fine, but he promised, I would not have any trouble after the sonic test and bluelight, gave me a 2 year warranty, since all the parts are coming from him.

Thought a dart block can be made a 427 very easily and you could bore them over .060 ok,.??[>:]
