Default Timing question

I have a 1994 mustang, and I don't know if I can use the harmonic balancer for number check because, there is no numbers anymore. Now the distributor cap has a mark I can see that is lined up to another mark already pre-etched. I would like to know what is the stock degree on 1994 5.0's, and how much do I go clockwise to advance it 2 degrees. If someone knows. And also, my ABS light stays on, is that bad?

You can't really use that amrk to determine your timing. It only takes a very slight movement to advance or retard timing (we're talking a millimeter here.)

As far as the numbers being gone on your balancer... Chances are the numbers are still on the balancer, they are just covered it dirt / oil / grime. Crawl up under the car and give it a good scrubing with an old toothbrush and some cleaner.

And yeah... a light staying on is usually a bad thing

Well dang, but on the light. It goes away when I press the break. The ABS still works and all just the light is on.

If the light is on, the computer is dectecting some problem. Pull the code and find out.
