Sometimes it is easier to take the trans out yourself, and have a knowledgeable tech go through it, then you put it back in yourself.

Did you get new flywheel bolts? If not you really should get some new ones.

Well, she's all buttoned back up. I buddy of mine had a scissor (sp?) type transmission jack, we got the tranny back in the car very easily. Got everything bolted back up and fired her up..

Everything is doing good, I did aboutthree 5000 rpm clutch drops... just kidding... I took it out for a couple of gentle drives and its doing real good. The pedal adjusted almost by itself, clutch feels pretty good, a bit lighter than the other one.

So...
New King Cobra
New FRPP Flywheel
New FRPP Bolts, dowels, throw out, pilot bearing
New Ford clutch fork
New Ford rear main seal
New 5th gear synchro
Lots of cleaning,even morecussing,

The good thing is that I have put it into fifth gear about half a dozen time and it hasn't grinded yet.. so I'm assuming the trans is going to be fine. I'm going to change the fluid again to get any crap out that may have gotten in there.

No funny noises, no clicking, so I'm happy. I'll take it for a longer drive tommarow...

Yup.. also according to the book, the stock clutch uses 39 lbs of pedal force, while the redisigned king cobra fulcrums need only 31 (but still has more clamping force).

Actually I don't mean redisigned... but the clutch and PP that came on the Cobra in 93 were different than the standard 5.0's. The PP finger fulcrums were a bit different and were made to feel lighter but still have more clamping force due to the increased torque of that motor and to give better drivability. The "King Cobra" clutch is similar to the production Cobra clutch as it incorperates the same or similar fulcrums. The 93 Cobra clutch and the "King Cobra" clutch are similar, but are not the same thing.

By redisigned I meant redesigned as compared to the stock style PP.

Where did your KC from???

Anyway I have put on over 100 miles today in all sorts of driving (mostly freeway) and all is still good. I went into 5th gear over a dozen times and no grinding.
