is downshifting bad for the clutch and engine?

Down shifting is one of the ways you can save excessive use of the brakes which will help reduce the rotors heating up and warping ...anyway as long as you don't down downshift at high rpm's just so people notice you, you'll be fine. like the others say drive how you want...I've been doing it for years..I don't always hit every gear downshifting but nevertheless you'll be fine!!!

I won't downshift until I know the tach won't go over 3000rpms. I normally don't downshift to first either, because the gear is too low.

you downshift like i do then... i never down shift to first cuz by the time im ready im at a stop so its not really downshifting... as for keeping it upfr 3000 grand i like to do that to be ez on gas and the tranny and the clutch
