is it true that you can put 351 c on a 302? i guess like a boss 302 was set up? would there be any advantages?

4bbl C heads are basically BOSS 302 heads. yeah, you can do it with either 2bbl or 4bbl heads. yeah, its definate power increase from stock. the problem most people have is you need different headers, intake, and some machine work to make everything go together properly. i think its cool as hell, but most people will tell you that you can make more power with aftermarket heads and its easier to do

possible, yes.....

but just because you CAN, doesnt mean you SHOULD.

By the time your done with all the machine work, and find an intake that will work for you.... ya could have just slapped an aftermarket set of windsor heads on and called it a day.

what kind of machine work has to be done? and then you just use a 351c intake? and what about the distributor?

you cant use a 351c intake... it wont fit

you have to do some coolant passage modification, fab a coolant crossover.. etc etc

you can go ahead and try it... but there is a reason the cleveland stopped being produced

by default a C design makes more power, regardless to what anyone will tell you. obviously aftermarket W is better than stock C, but aftermarket C has better potential (again, by inherent design)

i think it would be cool yes especially if you had a 4 bolt main 302 and some aftermarket 351c heads but it sounds like alot of work to have something cool

its more a matter of $$ than effort. CHIheads.com have EXCELLENT C designed heads that will bolt right onto 302 blocks and they even sell intakes for their heads for use on a 302 that gives you proper water passages, but you'll be in it 2k for a set of heads and an intake
