Not much difference really, they both(if set up properly) will provide cooler denser air to the engine to help make a bit more power. The supposed ramming effect of ram air isn't actually realised unless you are at speeds over 100mph, and even then it's not much. Just get the air from as cool(and therfore dense) a source as possible

the only 2 "ram air" kits that areworth a damn is a turbo kit or a supercharger kit.

cold air is cold air, doesnt matter where you pull it from. under the hood is not cold air

cold air is denser and so you can fit more in an enclosed space, air flow sensor has nothing to do with it.obviously woody does not realize the idea behind it.

what gets me is a cold air will be made of metal and be chrome to make it worse....if itisn't plastic or at very least aluminum it's all for not.. unless you getting an ungodly amt of flow it might lower temp a few degrees at you T/B..and hell most of you guys have the tube to bring hot water thur your spacer so it's a total waste of time and $$$$$....what really matter is to have a straight SMOOTHshot of air to the engine and if a curve is nec. that it be a slow curve to not interrupt flow

isnt the stock set up plastic ? why would a cold air kit add a couple horses then ? is it the tubing or the air filter that makes the air cold? whats the difference between a stock set up and a mac cold air kit ..is it just a better filter and nice shiny chrome tubing ?

the COLD air part of this is the location that the intake gets its air from. if it gets it from the engine bay it is not cold. if it gets it from somewhere else (over the hood, fenderwell, lower bumper) its cold

the difference between aftermarket and stock is the stock box has a sh*tty air filter. buy a K&N and its the same thing. also, remove the air silencer from behind the stock box and your ready to go
