RE: pinion angle
i was just wondering if the same was true for a chevy rearend. After new gears were installed it developed a vibration at 50 mph or so. I know its not a mustang but thanks anyway I need new gears put in my mustang and was worried about the same

RE: pinion angle
That could be an out of balance driveshaft that was out of balance even before you swapped the gears.
95% of the time. Gear swaps are from a tall to a low set. You take a shaft that used to spin at 3000rpm max, swap the gears and ask the same old shaft to go to 7000rpm and not complain.
A steep pinion angle will also cause a vibration but it's a different kind of vibration. 2 deg or less is the ideal for u joint angle.
