Default Head Gasket?

I'm going to order a set of head gaskets this weekend and wanted to know what you guys think about FelPro p# FPP-1011-1 from Summitt. The only thing I don't know about is it says they are loc wire gaskets. Do I have to have my heads machined or the block machined for these? I like everything about these gaskets and they are the perfect fit except I'm questioning the loc wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know much about the lock wire but have you considered the fel pros from auto zone?? i have all mods in my sig and the 15 dollar fel pros hold up great.

if your going to pull off your heads i would consider getting new ones, if you have stock. if your going to keep them i would recomend getting the heads re-surfaced and get a valve job.

I believe the loc-wire HG requires machining of the head to accomodate the o ring

Yes, with the loc ring you have to get your heads machined, but you can leave block as is as long as it is 0 decked.

I got the Felpro 1011-2 head gaskets because thats what AFR recommended for my year, but i think the 1011-1s were recommended for fox bodies. I'm 99.9% sure they'll fit the stock engine just fine.

felpro 1011-1 is not a lock wire gasket. i used to run them on my stock block motor. you dont have to machine the heads. they do have a steel ring around the cylinders, perhaps you just read it wrong. 1011-1 is what afr recommended to me because i was running boost with their heads
