Carb cleaner doesn't always pick up a vacuum leak. Having the system smoked will. Most shops should be able to smoke it for you.
The lumpy idle is primarly caused by 2 things egr stuck open or a vacuum leak.

Even some beefy aftermarket race wires, they can cause hiccups and problems
Best to stick with Ford
Also, people love to replace the plugs with those Bosch Plats
And the big American 6s and 8s hate them
Really, it's amazing how bad they can make your engine run
I'm not sure about the NGKs, but you might want to try some stock Ford/Autolite...at least while you are chasing down a problem
And the wrong gap could lead to problems like you are describing
