fuel line
what size rubber hose do i buy to fix my fuel line next to the tank. alos how can you tell if its reuturn or supply line. it right next to the fuel filter. i assume if it connects to the fuel filter its supply line and if its not and goes right to the tank its return line right?
what size are each, i found out my ruptured line is not a break line, its a fuel line now that i got everything out of the way.
also since these are hard lines how do i cut them to put in the replacement?? with a dremel i would assume no and anything else would pinch the line closed....suggestions?

RE: fuel line
Was yours melting since it was next to the exhaust? Mine was... I found it the other day. I loosened the gas tank support on the passenger side and tucked the lines behind it. I need to fix it better than that but was not sure what the best way would be?

RE: fuel line
no, the fuel line and filter are directly above my drive shaft where it connnects to the rear end. thats the one that broke. it didnt melt, looks like it just broke i guess.
and i know that the supply has valve on it, but i dont really think it would be so easy to try and follow that line alllllll the way back to my fuel tank.

well when i did mine i went to the local harware store and got 50 ft of 5/16 hose cut the ruber hoses on the ruber on the conectors and cut to fit and hose clamp it tight as you can . i also mooved the fule filter up unto the engine compartment . the hose i got was like a buck a foot and rated for 200 psi if that helps . the hose i used was tractor fule line and ive never had a problem with it i hope .

RE: fuel line
your right about the supply line being connected to the filter, that would bethe easiest way to determine what line you need to buy. But you shouldnt be using rubber hose to fix a hard line, go to 50 resto or mustangs unlimited and buy the correct one, they usually cost about $100. if you cant afford that then youCOULD use a small tubing cutter to cut the hard line and then use at least at least 4 clamps to hold the rubber line on so it wont leak
