* RANT pg. 2*cleavor heads on windsor??? to do or not to do??
hey guys,
as most of you may know the shortblock i am getting has the pistons for a cleavor top end. so the guy i have to pick the block up from has cleavor heads and the matching intake for the swap. Should i put the "c" heads and intake onOR should i swap the pistons, reballance it all, buy windsor heads (means more searching), and the use them?
here is some info on the ehads and intake from him:
351 Track Boss intake- Single plane intake to use cleveland heads on a windsor block
4V closed chamber cleveland heads (70-71)-Manley valves, Comp cams 1.7 roller rockers, comp cams dual valve springs, new trick flow valve seals. Ready to bolt on your windsor block, new rocker locking nuts.
please let me know what you guys think.
Nik

RE: cleavor heads on windsor??? to do or not to do??
do it..... good deal on that intake and a pretty good deal on the heads...... dont listen to what anyone else says about Cleveland heads, you'll have a fairly rare setup and those heads are getting more and more valuable. do it, you'll be happy with the outcome

RE: cleavor heads on windsor??? to do or not to do??
this right? on this site: http://www.themustangshop.com/clevor.cfmthey say to dril the holes. "
Head gasket and block:
Head gaskets designed specifically for swapping Cleveland heads onto the Windsor block are available from Ford's SVO department at 313-337-1536. There are 3 holes that you must drill in the Windsor block, however, to match up with the Cleveland water passages. Use the head gasket as a template to mark these holes (3 on each side), then remove the gasket and carefully drill them out."
and
That's about all that you will need to do this head swap. It's fairly straight-forward and doesn't require machine work besides drilling a few holes. You'll soon be making tons of power with your very own 351 Clevor!!
