What if he is reffering to being at 3000 rpms at freeway speeds for extended intervals... as compared to about 1700??? IMO that may wear the bottom end out faster...
3k?? maybe with a c4, or haulin a$$, definately not freeway speeds

Risking some flaming but I'm with you bro. Depending on the use of your car the majority of the time, 3.55's are the most well rounded ratio for our cars IMHO...

if that was true my bottom end would have blown out years ago cause i run my car at 3000rpms on the freeway doing about 90mph. that was with a 461rwhp stock block and stock internals. my new motor hasnt seen the freeway yet

you mechanic is retarded and so are the other people who think so i drive 40 miles a day at freeway speeds with 160k on the clock and no probs

you hear a lot of people who love 410s but have you ever heard anyone (who has actually had them) that doesnt like them

Sounds like your mechanic graduated from the automotive school of Jiffy Lube.

Find a new mechanic.

ask him if installing a new radio in your car can cause it to over heat because of the added strain on the Fuel pump.

I work at a stereo shop andd someone actually said that the other day. I almost threw up I was laughing so hard.
