you have parts eh? I am looking for heads and a cam for my future 5.0 engine. It is more efficient to pull out my 86 engine and pop in a rebuilt 5.0 with the new stuff on it.

you have anything to offer me.

also, i know people do, but i dont see how they can get 400 hp or more on a 5.0.

i mean i am looking at getting heads, cam, my trick flow intake, 70mm tb&egr. and still i dont even expected to get into 300hp!

except for the engine work and the tiddly things like exhaust and stuff, how does one get to 400hp?

With:
heads
intake (manifolds, egr, tb, maf)
cam
injectors
fuel pressure regulator
and some misc. stuff

I'm at ~330-350. If I had used 10:1 instead of 8.5:1 compression ratio I'd be a lot closer to 400.

To get there, add a stroker kit, supercharger/turbo, N2O, even more wild cam, etc.

The shop that built my engine has an old mustang with a 589 that's whipping out over 1000hp. Of course that's a small shot of N2O and a huge blower.

Stock is 9:1.

8.5 is better for forced induction, unless you build the hell out of it. Even lower will let you run more boost, but you'll be hurting while off-boost.
