How long do rebuilt engines last?

RE: How long do rebuilt engines last?
you get what you pay for in parts when rebuilding. EX: if you buy the cheap $6 autozone head gasket instead of the upper brands such as felpro. your going to get $6 worth of gasket. dont expect it to last

gaskets, pistons, rings, bearings, connecting rods engine block, cylinder heads, oil pump, camshaft, crankshaft, valves, rocker arms, push rods rear main oil seal, timing chain and sprockets, intake manifold, lifters. i've never rebuilt an engine myself before. to time consuming for me. it's already a 6-12 hour job to put the motor in, and bolt everything up depending on how fast you work, and how many people you got to help you.

Not as long as a fresh brand new one. I mean you don't get MUCH more out of a brand new one. I'd say you can at least get 3/4ths of a motor with equal wear, and maintenance that is brand new.

This is whats required to build a new motor, not rebuild an existing one. You usually keep things like the crank and engine block.

Everything breaks! How you handle it and take care of it depends on how long it will last. Just becasue it is rebuilt does not mean it will last if youbeat on it all day.
