Gears: Speed vs. RPM

Gears: Speed vs. RPM
I want to change out my rear gears for something not so tall. I currently have the stock 3.08 rear and I like the low RPM on the highway but Im looking for better acceleration. Does anyone know of a chart that tells you your RPM with common gear ratios at different speeds?
I'm thinking of 3.55 as the car is stock and Im looking for good drivability in all situations. How much of a difference will this change make.
Any suggestions?
BTW its a 5 spd..

RE: Gears: Speed vs. RPM
Yes, 3.55 would probabaly be your best bet. My 5pd and 3.55's turns the motorat 2000K RPM's at 65 MPH (245/45/17 tires).
Theseare some number I came up with awhile along using some formula. It seems fairly accurate:
3.27- 110 RPMhigher than3.08's
3.55- 260 RPM higher than 3.08's
3.73- 370 RPM higher than 3.08's
3.90- + another 100 RPM
4.10- + another 110 RPM
Those number were rounded slightly. Like I said, that should be fairly accurate. Hope it helps.

When I went from 2.73s to 3.73s in my old V6 my1/8 mile times went from 11.0sec to 10.0sec so you should see at least .5 sec I think. But it depends, whats you 1/4 mile times now? If your completely stock I would say you will drop .4-.7 sec[/align]
