how to replace window bushings
i tried for a long time to figure out how to get these window bushings replaced and couldn't find any good directions on how to explain it so i found some good guidelines on another site and thought i would share. less then 30 minutes per window and that includes taking off armrest and door panel.
step
1. remove arm rest, handle bezel, mirror plastic. pretty much everything you will need in order to pull the panel off.
2. power the window all the way down.
3. when facing the inside of the door you will see one bolt holding the windowguide bar.unbolt that and there is another one on the buttom underneath the door. undo that one also.
4. now find something rubbery like the end of a hammer or the handle of a scraper and put it in the top of the door inbetween the window and door frame.
5. you may need to pry the door away alitte bit more but you just pull the bar straight up through the top of the door. super easy. no need to replace rivets or anything. i wouldn't worry about scrapping your window at all. the guy that i got the directions from said he has tinted windows and he didn't scrap them and i don't have tint but i did come up against them and there are no marks at all. take alot more then you think to put a scrap in them.
6. replace the two bushings. then just reverse everything.
7. enjoy your new windows going up and down nice and straight like they should.
wish i knew the guys name that did it on the other site but i can't find the thread again. either way this makes it super easy.
hope this helps other people trying to do this simple task that alot of our older cars need. you can get the bushings from 50resto.com they are like 3.95 a piece and you need two per door.
