Default 400whp

Hi guys,

I'm going to buy a 95 GT and I'd like to take her up to 400hp. I want a supercharger, as I live in high altitude. So I though of 6-8psi boost and what else do I need to get close to 400wHP? I thought a trickflow head might help. I don't want the car to be loud, so I'm not going to mess much with the exhaust.

Also, can the auto tranny handle this? It's gonna be a long range cruiser more than a sportscar, so it's gonna be automatic and low engine noise..

Thanks

Forget the s/c

Slap a nice turbo kit on there and it will run quieter than s/c and
make more power.

Run about 10psi and hit 400rwhp no probs on bone stock motor.

You didn't state how much you wanted to spend and if you will be doing your own wrenching or not.

decent aluminum heads, steeda #19 cam , edelbrock rpm II intake and roller rockers and good exhaust and a tune and 10 psi = good recipe for 400 rwhp

Trick Flow intake manifold. GT40 heads. Get a decent cam. With that s/c it'll be REALLY easy to hit 400rwhp.

I don't wanna spend more than $5k on the engine mods and I'm not going to work on it myself. The idea is to have somewhere around 400whp (350 minimum).

I hear some superchargers make an annoying whine and some turbos have that whistling tone too and top it off with a loud whistle when shifting (blowoff valve). But it seems a few superchargers don't seem to make that sound (judging by watching Youtube videos and my neighbors Mercedes 230 Kompressor). Honestly I hate that whining sound but I don't know how noticeable it is inside the car when cruising.. If I only hear it when I rev it high it's ok, but I don't want to hear a constant whine or whistle when driving 75-85mph on the highway.... As I've said I live at round 5,500 feet altitude in Mexico where everything except the coastline is high altitude... so I think using forced induction makes more sense than just doing all the other stuff. Also, I'd like to have the power at low revs and not have too rev it to the redline to get max power, so I guess a turbo is out (correct me if I'm wrong).

Oh it's noticable trust me lol

S/c's are usually a constant whine, and get louder the higher the rpm's are obviously. Same goes for turbo's once u get over about 3000rpm's.

Hoping to get there with my steeda cam gt40xs and kb through an auto, but you just cant argue against a turbo.

the reason you hear the blow off valve more on a turbo car is because its released out in the atmosphere while superchargers got bypass, does teh same absic thing just recirculates it through the intake and back through the supercharger thats why its much quieter, my kb isnt a loud whine at all at 10psi and below.

sounds like you need a top mount s/c

instant boost, torque curve flatter then a pre pubercated girls' chest
crusing it makes little if any noise at all...
