power drain...
When I opened my door today the dome light was dim... i put the keys in and tried to start the ignition and there was no response at all, so i gave it a second try and it turned over like normal. while im driving my cd player will turn off for a split second, then turn back on and stay on for a minute or so then it will do it again.... when i lower both windows at the same time the voltmeter drops close to zero, the lights flicker and deaden, and the cd player shuts off again until i let go of the buttons which normally doesnt happen... when i pulled up tomy parking spot once i put it in park the rpms swayed from 700-400 or so and it looked like it was going to die(even with the lights off)... i looked under the hood with a flashlight and didn't see anything arcing/sparking. the battery cables were not loose and the terminals didn't look rotted...tomorrow i plan to take a closer look at the battery and anything else i can think of... would removing the battery from the circuit while the car is idling make the car have a rough idle????
