Default Confused

So Im really confused about this.... I have a 1990 GT5speed, I always thought it was pretty quick, nothing special but up to par. This past week after spending some time with a friend of mine I realized his 1990 LX 5speed has alot more power.... Both of are cars are practically stock with the exception of aftermarket exhaust.

The only think I know of is that he has replaced his heads with a new set of OEM heads due to a loss in compression... so Im thinking maybe I should do a compression check on my heads too?

Why else could he be hitting higher RPM's faster and be making more power/speed then me?

Any Ideas?!

lx is lighter for one and an exhaust would help him out greatly

have you done all the cheap/ freebie mods? bumped timing short belt, k+n, c+l ? these are cheap and a fairly decent boost. any chance he has gears and doesnt know it? compare his rpm at a certain speed to yours maybe he does but it will be a quik comparison

There is a small difference of weight between the LX and GT.
