Default Mustang won't start....

Hi everyone,

Hopefully a quick question: I have a 95 Mustang (stock motor w/aftermarket intake, MSD 6A box, MSD coil, P1SC Procharger, aftermarket exhaust, new plugs, 30lbs injectors and with a SCT Chip....Yesterday I pulled it our of the garage and when I attempted to start it...it wouldn't. It turns over, I have plenty of battery, I believe I'm getting gas (smell) but I'm not sure about spark. I need to check the fuses and I the coil is only 2-3 months new. I have some quick start (cold day 50% ether) to see if that helps...I'll try that later tonight.

Any suggestions on what to check? How can I determine if my coil went bad? Should I disconnect the battery and retry? What about unplugging the SCT and trying stock? Will that hurt the SCT?

Thanks for your responses...

Robert

see if it fires up on ether..if it does = fuel prob...can you hear pump power up briefly in koeo mode??.. check for spark with an inline spark checker if none...check tfi module and stator in distributor

Thanks again for your help...I've checked all my connections, I know I'm getting gas (smell) plus it has a real noisy pump, I'm definely getting spark from the distributer, I still need to check if the spark is going to the plug (tonight).

I do have a SCT chip and I'm wondering if I pull that out (set it to stock) and attempt to start...can I replace it and get my custom tune back? If I disconnect the battery and re-connect do you think that will reset anything?

Replace and gap the spark plugs.

Unplug and re plug the coil pack, the connectors like to loosen up on the two wires inside the grey tab. If thats your case, get a new pigtail.

hey i had the same problem with my 88 i found it that it was the msd, Not sure how old yours is but my amplifier went in the 6A. It might still be under warranty. If you find that the box is the problem im pretty sure they only charge around 60 bucks to fix it but make sure your getting spark out of there first
