I have my 302 c.i. engine out of the car and on an engine stand, upside down, ready to install a MPG Heads 'Black Max' windage tray. I cannot get the tray positioned so it does not contact the rod bolts on each down stroke. I called the company and they said I could grind or cut sections so as not to hit the rods but don't intall shims (washers) under the tray to raise it away from the rods. The tech guy said the oil pan is too shallow to allow shims to be used. I want to ask the 'Stang Nation for feedback before I start cutting/grinding away.Anyone have experience with the intall of this product or something similar? Thanks in advance.
