5.0 Died On Me
So sightly after i got my gt running and inspected my 88 Lx died on me. Now monday night i was coming home from work around 9:30 and doing around 75 on the highway and it straight up died, no hesitation, shaking, any signs of anything wrong, about 10 mins before i was glancin over the gauges and everything was perfect engine at 180, oil pressure middle, volts good. called a tow and got it back to my house, just now got to mess with it (had off work) but ive checked all the basics, so i had no spark. i thought that the coil may be bad, swaped the 88's over to the 5.0 then my dads friend mentioned that it may be the ignition module so i got a new one then came to realize you needed a special tool got it and came to find out the lower bolt was stripped........goddamnit i hate fords, anyone have any idea how i can get that bolt out.

smash the module with a hammer and long flat head or crowbar, then use vise gips.
It will not hurt the dizzy, ive done this plenty of times, but really a no spark, is usually a Bad Stator in the dizzy(Magnetic Pickup,).
Mark the wire the dizzy is on, if its not on one, rotate the crank so it is, then install the new dizzy pointing at the same wire, then set timing.

now are you talking about this with the distributor still in the motor, cuz mine is, i only loosened it and turned it to gain access to the two bolts.
my dad mentioned breaking it off since there isnt too much to the module itself since its only plastic.

no spark could be any of the following coil, stator, tfi module , bad rotor and or cap and or ignition fuses....joel 5.0 has a good efi no start diagnosis but since you replaced coil I wouldn't think it'd be that

im kinda in the same place, i replaced the stator and got spark, but i also had a bad ground from the battery....
still not running right.. but i'd replace the stator and go from there....
