Default Power Trunk Release

So I just have acquired a power trunk release from a 99 GT and wanted to wire it directly so that I can just pop it with a button mounted in the interior and I was wondering how I would go about this. The plug has 3 wires: purple and white stripes, brown with white stripes, and a black. Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

i was pretty sure that a power trunk release was standard in ALL Sn95's.... did you look for a yellow button in your glove box

Three prongs? I would guess that the black is a common ground, and if you put +12v on either of the the other two it will make a popping noise. I am guessing that the two different inputs would be for the normal glove box button as well as from the alarm. You can try it on the battery for a sec and it should do no harm.

Default RE: Power Trunk Release

I have the 1995 Mustang GTS which did not come with any power options nor the button in the glove box to pop the trunk. I also looked at the current latch and it did not have any power either. So now I’m just looking at doing a standalone pop from the interior. Anyone knows a good place to hook into for the 12v power supply? Instead of directly connecting to the battery...
