Will 24lbs injectors work w/19lb MAF
Hey,
I've rebuilt my motor and have everything ready to go in the car minus the new MAF. I've been denied twice by 2 separate people who were suppose to be holding a used 24lb MAF. I've decided to just buy one new but I'm ready to install the engine this weekend. Will the motor run with 24lb injectors and a 19lb MAF? Would I be risking damaging the engine during break in? If I don't do the swap this weekend I wont have another free weekend for a month, that's the only reason I'm considering doing it with the wrong MAF. I can swap the MAF's later when I receive the correct MAF if this will get me running.

Do you have an adjustable fuel regulator? I think it will work and run but just not run right. Maybe I'm wrong but I think the worst you could do with that is starve it for air which doesnt really hurt anything like starving it of fuel would.

if u have a free weekend..why not just swap everything except the mass air..then when it comes in..its only like a five minute job to plug it in and put it on...then its done right.

yeah, I'll probably make the swap but hold off on breaking the engine in until I get the right MAF. I'd hate to mess something up after all this work

Seating the rings is hard enough on the motor, you don't want to add fuel wash to the mix....
It will be worth the wait

i was running 19 lber's w/ a 36 lb maf (unknown to me) and it was fine
when i swapped it out correctly...and even reset tps, idle, and evrything...it was exactly the same
good sources have told me the computer will adjust for it enuff.

The ecu can adapt a total of 25% (enrichen 12.5% or lean 12.5%).
36/19= 1.89 (x100)= 189% That is a difference of 189% from the factory settings.
No way that car ran 'right' while it was that far out of range.
If it did run ok, then there is something else you aren't telling us........ [8D]
Maybe you had pulled the O2's???
