i just bought a 94 stang 5.0 my engine has no check engine light no noise in the motor but it lacks power after 4000rpm i took it to a mechanic they dont know what it is im wondering if anyone knows what it can be fluids are ok also can anyone help!??

Stock engine is going to peak around 4800. After 4 k your not going to feel a kick in **** unless you get gears.

I know you just bought it but may want to try the suggestions in the previous post i.e. tune up. Plugs, wires, etc.... What all did the shop do to solve the problem, and did they agree that there was a problem?

well when i took it to the shop they told me the catalytic might just might be cloges because they didnt see anything wrong with the air going into the car or the fuel they tested those two things

If that thing is clogged, and you take it on a long enough drive, I have personally seen them start to glow(it may need to be a bit darker out lol). I cna't remeber if the car I was looking at had a loss of power...but my gut tells me that it surely wouldn't add any lol.

Start cheap and work your way up, thats generally a good idea. Aka-Tune up

I also have a 94GT and trust me it is not fast if in stock form. If cats are clogged you will see them glow after driving for a while. Have you done a tune upon your stang? if so, then like everyone else said work your way up, maybe remove the old cats and get an x or h pipes (or if money is availablefull exhaust), if your state permits...aka smog regulations.....

hey badtzmaru thats the same stang i got 94 with the same color blue but diffrent rims but it looks exactly like urs kool man i love that color well thanks ill see when i can get some money saved up to do a major total tune up to see if i get it in good shape if its not that then i guess ill keep posting forums bothering evryone lol

if your catis pluged that will realy bring the power down. how many mile are on the car? it could just be tired. tune up will most likly help. check for any vacume leeks, run some injesctor cleener through it. there are a lot of other little thing you can do to help with this problem.

ok ill give it a tune up a.s.a.p since i see evryone it going that way what do you guys suggect i do so far i got oil, oil filter, spark plugs and wires, cap, radiator flush, injector cleaner, andything else i can do other then those things to give it a really good tune up?
