may have a bad switch assembut I 'd check the line that goes from switch to vaccum motor for the vent control...good possibility it has a ruptured diapram in the motor or broken line... you'll have to crawl under the dash and find the correct vaccum motor

Mine did the same thing a few months ago... Check all of your little plastic vaccum lines. One of mine was broke and all i had was air coming out of the defrost vents

true^^^^ but in his case he has it on foot heat and defrost..if it were the main vac line..default is defrost and defrost only..it'd have to be the line to vac motor in this case or motor or switch or binding door

i just had my dash out and painted it and it was workin fine before that when i was takin it out there was a vacuum line behind where the glovebox is and it unpluged and it made a wush but i pluged it back in and when i was done and put everything back together when i turn it on the ac it just blows out of the drfrost but when i turn it to floor it blows out of the floor it just won't blow out of the vents so is there a way i can reset the vacuum line??

you need to make sure that line is still attached to the motor and or did not get pinched

there are three vaccum motors on there did you check all three and make sure you got the right one??? if they were crossed it'd open a door at the wrong time with the position not corresponding to the function
