Default Smell after clutch install

I just replaced the clutch in my 94 Cobra and after driving about 10 miles I can smell something. The smell is kind of like something burning or like some metal was just welded together. I had to spray some WD-40 on the exhasut to get the header nuts back on right and I'm thinking it might be that burning off. Any thoughts?

Yea, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Everything seems to working fine. It was my first clutch install and I'm suprised that it didn't take very long. I can't believe how much shops charge for a job that simple.

Did you clean the flywheel and pressure plate before install?

Check the rear seal where the shaft meets the trans for fluid. If inserted at a angle it can bind the seal and leak and spin off or wind carries it to the exhaust and burns off.

I agree with others, if your not riding the clutch, it could be justjunk that collected in the process burning off.
