Default low amps, new battery, new cables

New problem,
Passed some one on 2 lane road, moderate acceleration. Battery light went on. I have now bought a new battery, new battery cables and still have the battery check light on and low amps on the dash gauge. Could this be the alternator?

Could very well be the alt. Take it to auto parts store and have them check it.

The alt shoulda been your first guess. But yea go get it tested at advance or autozone.
