Serious power, and a long term base to build on.
I would not usea cleveland engine. It's a good engine, don't get me wrong. But parts are not as plentifull, they cost more when you do find them, and it's a bigger heavier engine than the Windsor. It's more difficult to fit in a Fox chassis.
Serious power requires more cubes. Use a 351W stroker. You can get an excellent price on a 393 stroker direct from Ford. All new parts, and a warrenty. It will make serious power forever and a day. Later on you can easily swap for better heads, intake, cam for even more power. Unless you really thrash it on a regular basis, it will last for many years.

If you can find a '69-'75 351 windsor block in a salvage yard start with it. That year block is stronger than the later blocks. It will need to be machined so have the machine shop check the lifter bores to except roller lifters. You can get a strocker kit for them pretty cheap, some as low as $800.00 for the complete rotating assembly. You can transfereverything from the 302 over to the 351 except the lower intake (which you mayneed a upper to match depending on what lower you go with). Later onyou canstep up the motor with otherhi-po commponents.

A 351C swap isnt any more complicated thana 351W swap. And Cleveland parts are more expensive, they weigh a little more, but they fit alot nicer in a fox than I originally thought they would. Having a fox with a 351C is also different than every other guy on the block with 302s or Windsors. From my personal experience, the 351C is the easiest to make power with. In the right hands, any SBF can run good tho so its up to u
