Default before i upgrade- domestic test

Ok I just got a domestic code scanner so i can check my 87gt computer to make sure everthing is working rightbefore i do my h/c/i overhale. the code book is telling me the connecter locations could be in 6 general areas near firewall,near wheel well, near the front of engine compartment, on left or right side. does anyone kno where i hook this up too... its a actron code scanner- car computer code reader -got it for 34$-and im look at a 1987mustang gt. a pic or webpage or anything would br useful Thanks.

If its like the 93 which I am sure it is, it should be on the drivers side near the firewall, looks like a house kinda.

it should be under the hood right by the firewall on the drivers side
there are 2 plugs.. a little one with 1 inlet and a big one with 3

your code reader isnt going to work with obd1 its an obdII you just waisted your money

Dont they have one that you can plug in and it will flash, similar to the check engine light when you run the koeo test? I thought they did but I might be wrong

obdI is what is on all the 5.0 stangs. obdII was mandated in 96. obdI you can pull codes but only pull codes. obdII you canpull codes read fuel trims its a lot better. obdI was basically just a check engine light crap
