Default how to build 95 gt?

is it possible and how to build a reliable 302 based 95 gt with good power and good gas mileage? how should i go about buildig this car? i will have a six speed so keep that in mind. i just been struggling with what to do to my car how can i get a lot of power and not kill my gas mileage i don't want a car that's gettin ten mpg ya knowi saw vic edelbrock say on tv that he has an oldclassic 400+ hp car that gets 25 mpg with an auto so what's it gonna take to do this in my car? all motor? blower? turbo? mixture? what do you guys think i should do?

My route = build a respectable 302/306 with decent H/C/I and strap on a Vortech. As of now, I average 20mpg doing 80mph 90% of the time, with 373s. So I figure once I throw in the S/C, I keep my foot out of it and cruise around speed limit and Ill keep around my 20.

low compression.
turbo--- more efficient
a good gear nothing rediculious
Electronics, u'd pulleys.....
MM&FF had an article on a SN95 body mustang w/ a stroker, T67mm turbo, 6spd...etc.. riding on the streets of NY in 90 degree weather getting 17mpg in stop and go traffic and staying under 180 degrees operating temp.

what makes the mpg's go down so much when building an engine? justthe size of injectors? the heads? i figure a 302/306 would get bettfer gas mileage than a 331/347/351 and i thot low compressiom would help. weight reduction would help i know. will prob stick with a 3.55 or maybe a 3.73 since i know i'm gettin a six speed. my dillema is why can't i have a bigger cubic in motor and not have to salvage my gas mileage? i know as guy that has a 98 z 4.10 gears and a six speed on a long distance trip got 30 mpg as you know those are 5.7L with about 320 crank horse. so how do us stang guys acheive that? the blower is a def option turbos clutter the bay a little more than blowers and i want the car to be kinda neat under the hood cuz i'll be showing it as well. so i guess this is boiling down to stroker or not and how many pounds of boost i want to make a lot of power but not get 10 gallons to the mile and no i did not say that wrong i said it how i meant it just point me in the direction i need be and what parts are gonna best fit my application if you will if this is gonna be at all possible meaning having a high horse car that gets good mpg

^^^^^ what he said. IMO- electric water pump, E-fan, U/D pulliesand aluminum heads. Yes a larger injector does waste/cost you more fuel due to the fact the motor is begging for more fuel as well as a large fuel pump... although a typical pump is 255 for us mustang guys (factory 190lph but with a buld like that the pump will need to change).
With the type of engine listed byJASPERSTANG, depending on boost.... injection is what will get you, its all in a matter of keeping your foot out of it, how many accessories you run and etc...

i'll look for that MM&FF artical and post it for ya let you do some examination on it.....

The weight of your right foot...

the more power the engine makes, the less effort it needs to move the car.

your rear end ratio has nothing to do with you having a six speed... the 6th gear in the cobra spec T56 is the same as the T5

you can, just don't drive like a ********.

My old probe got 28mpg and ran 18 psi of boost, made over 300hp, My cobra used to get 26MPG, and made 276rwhp. Its all about how you drive!

that was an awesome article!!! i noticed one thing tho...... they didn't comment on gas mileage but with 96# injectors you know it can't be good at all but anyways .....wow a 1000 horse street car thats just amazing!!! what makes turbos more efficient anyways? just the fact of no extra drag on the engine? i was really wanting the flowzilla but everyone says they're only good for about 350 at the wheels am i correct? i would like more than that and the thing i didn't like about them was the only fit on stock intakes why don't they make one for an edelbrock intake or something like that? i guess it's just gonna be a toss up on the stroke of the engine i decide to use. what's the diff there? a few more rpms in a 306 and a little more power but a little less rpms on a stroker? i'm still undecided on what to do i guess just quit worrying bout the mpg so bad and build a b/a motor
