RE: I want 500hp
yah im leery on turbos and superchargers, why risk it when you can build it up all motor and be more reliable. I kno they can work if installed correctly but its cause i never did one of thsoe projects, i wouldnt mind lookin into a kenne bell supercharger in the future, but for now heres my project, edelbrock aluminum heads i beleive vitor jrs. havent bought them yet, ford hydraulic lifters wit ford 1.6 rockers, ford f303 cam, new pistons n rings .030 bore, bbk underdrive pulleys 70mm bbk TB, gt40 upper and lower intake, bbk 225 fuel pump, bbk cold air intake, MAF calibrated, edelbrock egr spacer, stock tranny, 3.73 rear end gearson 16 inch pony wheels, should be a pretty nice setup up for the money.

N/A is more reliable and more predictable. I do like boost as well, but it is not as simplistic as an N/A engine.
Whether you get 500 HP from an N/A or boosted combination, if you want it as close to 100% reliable, one needs to look into an aftermarket block and internals.

RE: I want 500hp
To build a NA motor to make 500hp is going to bepricey unless you go 351 route will be "somewhat" easier....here's what I would do...run your stock block...get a set of nice heads. AFR 165's and custom cam...buy a second hand blower S-trim or whatever...bolt that crap on....and peel...cheap..sorta reliable get car tuned...have fun wont cost too much and if you stock block goes who cares....throw another one it : ) 450-500...
