advancing timing

RE: advancing timing
I ran 15° timing until I got my car onto a dyno, and found that it made optimal power with 12°
I personally wouldnt go much further than 13° since ~36° total timing is optimal, and the computer adds 25° onto your base timing

RE: advancing timing
I ran mine quite a bit over stock. With the stock cam it would start to fall off bad above 12, with the x303 bumping it up further keeps giving it more. I took mine as far as I could before it knocked on 89 octane then went down a touch.

RE: advancing timing
Pull the spout connector out. Its the little gray thing by the dist plug. Slighty loosen the dist hold down bolt. Leave a little tension on it though so it doesnt move by itself. Hook up the timing light to battery positive and ground. Hook the other part to the number 1 spark plug wire. If you are standing at the front its the front left. Start the engine let it warm up. Shine the light on the harmonic balancer and see what its at. You might have to clean the balancer off to see the marks though. Slighty turn the dist to get it where you want it.

Well like i said i have ming at 16 and runs alot better at 16 than 12 or even 14. Better throttle response and just plain faster. And its still on 87 octane.
