Default steering shaft assembly help!

so im trying to put in a Flaming river steering shaft assembly on my 92 fox... the problem im running into is that the long shaft between the 2 u joints is to long? i checked the part # and everything is correct, but it does not say anything in the instructions about cutting the shaft?

any and all thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

did you line it up with the old one/and r u puting the shaft on the fire wall first or the rack/try the fire wall first..

i would... but the thing is the shaft is about an inch too 2 inches to long lol, i ligned it up with the fire wall part attached and it was to big! [:@]

send it back where ever you got it and get yourself a maximum motorsports shaft... seriously. Much better design and not worth loosing your life because the set screws back out. Look around the internet and you will hear tons of horror stories about them. I was having problems with mine also and than I started doing some research and starter hearing tons of bad things, I immediately called summit and told them I wanted nothing to do with their shaft, after that they kindly credited my account $175 bucks. GOOD LUCK.

isnt it a collapsable shaft like the stock one? you should be able to push it into itself the 2 inches you need. all steering shafts have to be collapsable its federal law

the main shaft is to long thats the thing, its a solid piece and it wont go in

you should still be able to collapse part of the shaft front or back so the middle shaft fits no?

the kit he has is a non-collapsible unit. i would not put that thing on my car if i were you. send it back and get the maximum motorsports piece.
