stock quadrant or adjustable quadrant.

stocker you just pull up on the pedal and press it it in a few times ti self adjusts.

i fit's a better quadrant... adjust it so it starts to engage about 1 1/2" off the floor

You said "adjust the nut" so I am assuming you are talking about the cable being adjustable. I just adjusted mine until it was where I wanted it at on the pedal and made sure it didn't slip at all. Kind of a pain in the rear if you have to adjust it more than once cause you have to keep jacking i up, but you could always put it on jack stands so you can adjust/test without putting all that. If its too high on the pedal, I think you loosen the nut... And if its grabbing too low, tighten the nut...

It is probably slipping because you have the nuts tightend down too far, so the fork isn't releasing all the way. Loosen the nuts up some and try that.

Get a fire wall adjuster. Then just set the cable on the clutch fork so there is little to no slack. So if it is slipping, loosen the adjuster, if it won't disengage, tighten it. I like mine a to work up near the top so when I quick shift, the clutch disengage sooner and I don't have to push it in all the way.
