I was talking to a 5.0 guy that seems to know what he's talking about but want to make sure. I'm going to be putting 390 gears in my car soon. And this guy says because my car is just about stock that my car is going to fall on it's face with these gears. Can anyone confirm this because he's got a set of 355s that he says will work better. But mind you that I don't plan on leaving it stock forever. What do you think will happen?

You will have a quicker take off with the 3.90 compared to the 3.55.... And for it falling on its face not with any of those gears. you might not even tell that much if you switch to the 3.90 i would keep the 3.55 if not i will buy them off you if you go with like 4.10 you will tell.

Well, you guysseem to know what your talking about so I'll go with the 3.90s. I just don't want to swap out the gears if that did really happen, you know?

why would your car fall on it's face?? gears don't increase or cause horsepower loss.. they just get you through your power band alot quicker and at most you'll just have to shifter quicker as the motor will reach max power/rpm potential quicker

Well you see that's what I tried to argue about with him. It didn't make much sense to me either. He was saying that I wouldn't have enough power to keep the top end going so on and so forth.... Idk that's why I asked here to find out.
