429 Swap?
I have a 95 GT and i was wondering if there is enough room under the hood to get a 429 in there? I think that shelby had a 429 in the 70's mustang, obviously different body but i am wanting to go bigger, any suggestions?

RE: 429 Swap?
like the 429 nascar engine that was in the 69 boss!?!?! it would take alot of work to stuff it in there.that engine is pretty pricy isnt it? id just do a 347 or something like that but that would be crazy to have a 429

RE: 429 Swap?
unless this is going to be a trailered drag car i would go with a 347
ifthis going to be a daily driver or even street driven anywhere where there is a turn in the road, the 429 is a really heavy motor and obviously will make your handling absolutly horrible even with built up suspension.

i also know a guy with a 429 fox. car sounded something wicked..... there is just something about the rumble of a big block that stroker small blocks cant touch. not exactly a clean install but goddamn that car was wicked
they make swap mounts and headers for the foxes, should probably work in the SN95's as well i would think ?!?
he used an electric fan and it was really close to the water pump pulley, but it all fit.
he's got a very healthy 429 in his daily driver too....

RE: 429 Swap?
yeah that car has ac (we live in FL lol). its a 4 eye t-top car with a fuel cell in the back, a ford 9" 4 linked with 4.11's, subframe connectors, and all the other suspension goodies you'd expect. he owns a shop (pictured kinda) and specializes in transmissions and hes a ford freak. the 429 is mated to a built C6 with some high stall i wanna say like 3500 or higher in it. it had a .650 + lift solid cam in it and those pics is when they swapped it out for a something like a .600 lift hyd. cam to make it a little better on the bottom end. he had a NOS plate system and a fogger system hooked up, but he never actually filled the bottle cause the car was scary fast as is LOL. car is currently wrecked, he had a throttle linkage stick when he floored it one day and ended up into a tree[:@]
