Is a Auto and Manual Computer the Same ?
I have a 93 convertible w/ 5.0 5spd. and wanted to know if I went to napa or somewhere to get a computer , will an auto. computer work w/ my 5 spd. the reason i'm asking is because the auto comp. is only $130 and the one for my manual is $210. I have read on here before that they should work together , just the auto comp. has more fuel options ? Please let me know.

i hear the auto computers have more agressive fuel timing/curves i've seen plenty of people use an auto computer with no problems at all that is for fox....... sn's are a whole different story

I'd say buy the a9p. I switched a friends to an a9p the only difference it made was on startup & when rolling. On startup it would idle 100rpm higher for 30 seconds then drop 100rpm & stay there. When rolling it would stay 100rpm until under 5mph (dunno if your vss is connected or not)

sn is the body platform name. 94 was the first year and 95 was the last year of the 5.0 in the sn95 platform, the platform continued untill 98 with the 4.6L.

vss is the vehicle speed sensor, it's located at the end of the speedo cable where it goes in the transmission, has wires coming out of it. It's purpose is so the eec can tell how fast you're going.

Yeah im not 100% sure on your year of car. But with my SN. When i did my tranny swap, with the auto computer the car would hesitate under heave acceleration. Swaped out computers and its good to go!
