Isn't the factory gap like .052-.056 or something like that? .044 seems a lil narrow.

RE: Spark Plug Gap
chilton said .44 for the 89 5.0s and .054 on the 90+
they were at about .050, so they should be good (yes, i was helping him do it, rick is incompetent, lol, j/k)
P.S. his Mach has a 351 cleaveland for future reference =P

RE: Spark Plug Gap
with a high energy ignition system you can open the gap up....as for the die at random....if it is ignition system related.. I'd try replacing the tfi module and after that possibly the stator in the dizzy

RE: Spark Plug Gap
MJR, what happened was, he went autocrossing(pics are funny, you should see, ill let him post) and afterwards, he lost a couple of electrical things, i.e Turn signals dont work, nor the air, and then this. im guessing hes got a short somewhere, and im gonna get him to my mechanic to check it out, hopefully it is something simple
i went over yesterday to try and diagnose it, and i had a spare dizzy rotor, so i said **** it, put it on, we did a couple of "fun runs" and experienced some wheel hop, and it seemed fine, so we got a new fuel filter, cap, and plugs JIC, but didnt put in the plugs, because we found out his cousin put new ones in before he sold it, so theyre saved for a rainy day.
basically, it didnt fix it, so thats just some extra info for ya
