Most likely the h/l switch and or harness to it is gonna be burned when you pull it out. Very common problem. Bad connection causes resistance and then heat then it fries.

also if you put colored bulbs or bulbs of a higher wattage or different type, this will occur

[:@]I had the same issue, got pulled over a few time because of it too. I checked the switches and dimmer switch on mine and there was not prolems but it still seemed to cut in and out, some nights no problem, other nights it would hapen every few minuts. I ended up taking my fog lights out a few months later, just because one didn't work andI didn't want them on there anymore. Since thenI have never seen the problem agian? It's been about 4 years now and they have still not cut out? Never really foundout what the issue was?

My headlights used to cut out whenever I tried to use my fog lights. Itwas the only time the lights would ever cut out, and it happened every time. Solution: I took my fog lights out. Seriously. Pro is right though; I've heard that our stock headlight switchesare not up to the duty of running both the headlights and fog lights, and overheat.
