adjusting ebrake

Default adjusting ebrake

Anyone know how to adjust the ebrake on an 89 stang. I have replaced the cables, but it wont it release all the way and when i drive for a while my drums super hot to the touch. any info would be great thanks.

there is an adjuster inside the drums, i dont remember if the foxes came with access holes in the backing plate to adjust from, but you want to start with that adjustment unless the cables are super tight, then you should back those off a bit first. the adjustment for those i believe is under the console at the ebrake arm..

make sure the adjusters are in working order and not frozen...often times you may have to use a punch to remove the knock out portion for acessing adjuster

the adjuster for the brake shoes is inside the drums and the knock out or adjusting acess hole is on the lower center of the backside of the backing plate
