I think I am gonna get that C-4, just too good of a deal to pass up. How hard is it to put in a shift kit? Should I do that? How hard is the trans brake?

shift kits aren't hard to install, but that is all based on your tech ability

I would say Im pretty Tech Savvy. Im picking up the C-4 this week, my next dilema is what size (stall/diameter) torque converter do I get? Also I know I need to change from a flywheel to a flexplate, which one do I go with? I appreciate all your patience for a fox-body newbie, I cant wait to get this car running right. Thanks again

Stall will depend on your engine build, Stay away from those cheap Ebay flexplates and buy a good B&M, TCI orany other good brand and make sure you have it weighted right. Can you post up a close up of the 351M heads on your 302?

Hey there I am actually in process of rebuilding my c4 right now and replacing my t5. I believe i am going to run a pro tree trans brake just so i dont have to mess around w/ tv cables and governors and such. i also am using this to tide me over while my drag fox is being made. Good luck w/ ur swap and let me konw if you have any questions bud. ~Nate~

Portmaster, your return line appears to have several kinks in the line. It may be something you will want to address. I had a C6 I put in my old 83 truck, only thing I can remember being a majow pain was the loss of overdrive. I run a C4 tranny now with transbrake and a bunch of other BS. It's like driveing a race car all of the time on the street, it sucks. Alot of fun, but it sucks.

what size flexplate do i need, how many teeth, what balance? I don't know if its a 2 piece or one piece rear main seal, does it really matter? I saw this on the description on summit, SFI 29.1, what does that mean? I am new to muscle cars and dont know as much as I thought I did I guess.

second problem, what size torque converter do I get, not stall wise but diameter? what is the crank pilot? last thing, i think, is do I just count the splines on the input shaft to the tranny to get the input spline quantity?

Whoever can help me out I would appreciate it tons... Im lost in the sauce when it comes to this stuff, I didnt know there were so many options.

Thanks again in advance, you guys are geniuses!!!

ok, I did a little research and found that the AOD flexplate is 164 tooth. If I get a 164 tooth 50 oz imbalance c-4 flexplate will it work? The reason I ask is because the AOD flexplate has a 11.438 BC but all the torque converters I found were either 11.4 or 11 13/32... none that measured 11.438
