Default Serious Question?

I have a 89 GT conv. that is stock except for underdrive pullys, and a K&N filter. I am wanting to go with heads, intake, cam, etc. All the normal bolt ons to really juice her up. Question is, people are telling me even with sub frame connectors, I am going to twist the body up on my conv. adding the extra horsepower, so bad the doors will not shut, and that I should just use her as a cruiser. I am not planning on dragging the car, I just want the power there when I want it. Most of this info is coming from bodyshop owners being I am a paint rep. and talk to these guys everyday. Has anyone had this problem with a conv.?

If you are just going to run it on the street it will not hook up enough to do damage.

Verts have extra supports to compensate for there not being a roof to add strength to the car. You could add a roll bar to add strength too, but I don't think you will have to worry about it on the street. I think rollbars look cool when the top is down.
