Default problems going into gear

im havin trouble wit my 89 lx as far as i know its the stock tranny clutch etc...everytime i shift i actually have to force it into gear like it doesnt want to go..it really screws up tryin to go to reverse...it never pops out of gear or slips when going or driving...any ideas?

the clutch disc may be worn or cable stretch has occured to where the pressure plate is not fully disengaging the disc.

if it still has the stock quadrant you could tighten it up if it isn't completely tight

so should i adjust it and if it doesnt fix replace the disc and cable?

pull up on the clutch pedal for adjustment, that's the only adjustment there is, you need to verify that the clutch cable is not the issue/ make sure clutch fork travel is sufficient.

Check the stops on your shifter, I know that if they stop too early that it won't allow your tranny to shift all the way into gear, which could cause the problems listed.

No. It definately could be trannny prob, the other stuff is just easier to check and cheaper to fix
