Not saying what I did was the best option, but I have to pass emissions as well, so I'm limited as well. I put on a set of Thumper Heads, put 1.7 rockers and a Cobra Intake. It was a good upgrade for the $. I'm hoping with keeping things somewhat stocklike, it will still pass.

However as I have been told, a real good set of cats will make almost any engine pass.

afr 165's are emmision legal I BELIEVE, E-CAM is about the largest cam that carries a C.A.R.B label and a performer or rpm intake and supporting mods as well as a good set of cats

Get it inspected the day before you install anything, good for 2 years, then pay $75 every two years for a "coolness tax" to get it inspected.

Nope. A few years back I went to a local Mustang shop and asked one of the "lower workers" if he could get me an inspection sticker(I had no cats). He said he would. And I gave him $100 for the sticker. But wouldn't you know it, he took my money and ran. I asked the Mustang shop where he was and they said he had just been recently fired. It was a stupid decision on my part. I ended up paying a local muffler shop $350 for cats and an inspection. You live and learn I guess.
